Plastic hangers are made from many different types of plastic materials and are NOT recyclable in our RecycleOne program OR as a Bulky Rigid Plastic (they get tangled and caught in our baling equipment).

Plastic hangers are made from many different types of plastic materials and are NOT recyclable in our RecycleOne program OR as a Bulky Rigid Plastic (they get tangled and caught in our baling equipment). They should be reused or disposed of with your regular garbage. Only plastic BOTTLES, CUPS & CONTAINERS can be placed in your curbside recycling bin (except for Styrofoam, prescription medicine bottles & motor oil bottles).

Metal hangers can be delivered to the Utica or Rome EcoDrops for recycling. Do not place hangers in your recycling container for curbside collection. A scrap metal recycling container is located at each location for all types of scrap metals including metal hangers, pots, pans, bicycles, desks and other types of scrap metal material.
