    Bulk items (i.e.

    Bulk items (i.e. sofas/chairs/tables) may be delivered to our Transfer Stations in Utica or Rome for a fee of $5.00 per item.

    The Authority encourages reuse before disposal. There are various locations and organizations in Oneida and Herkimer Counties that accept used items as a donation for reuse or recycling. 

    Some acceptable items include furniture, household items and more. Certain organizations will arrange for the pickup of donated items.

    Scrap metal items include pots, pans, bicycles, car parts and more. These items cannot be placed in your curbside recycling bin.

    Scrap metals include aluminum, tin, cast iron, steel, stainless steel, copper, zinc, brass and bronze.

    Scrap metal can be delivered to the Utica or Rome Transfer Stations for recycling at no charge.

    A scrap metal recycling container is located at each location for all types of scrap metal.
