Am I Recyclable? Out With the Old, In With the New

With so many of us receiving new clothes, toys, electronics, and more this holiday season it might be time to get rid of your old items to make space for the new items!
While many broken or ripped items can be recycled at our EcoDrop locations more gently used items are better off donated. Use the guide below to properly recycle your items.
Toys and Bulky Rigid Plastics
Many plastic toys and other bulky plastics can be recycled! Please drop them off at the Utica or Rome EcoDrop locations - do not set them out curbside with your other mixed recyclables.
Electronics
- Donate or sell unwanted, working electronics.
- Residents and businesses may deliver unwanted electronic waste to the Authority's Utica and Rome EcoDrops year-round, at no charge for proper recycling. Businesses and institutions must schedule an appointment prior to delivery by calling 315-733-1224.
Clothing
The Authority has a Clothing Drop Off Box at the Utica and Rome EcoDrops for the delivery of used clothing, shoes, sneakers, belts, purses, blankets, sheets, drapes, pillowcases and stuffed animals for donation.
