Join us for a Free Drop-Off recycling event!

On Saturday, April 27th the Authority will be partnering with Senator Joseph Griffo for a Free Drop-Off recycling event! The event will be taking place from 10am-2pm at the Authority's Oneida-Herkimer Recycling Center at 80 Leland Ave Extension, Utica, NY 13502. The event will include:

  • Electronics Recycling: Electronics are accepted for recycling year-round at the Authority's EcoDrop facilities. For the duration of this event, there will be a convenient drive-through recycling option for electronics. The electronics listed here are accepted for recycling. Authority staff will be available to assist with unloading. Both the EcoDrop and Household Hazardous Waste Facilities will be available during the event for any additional items. 
  • Confidential Paper Shredding by ConfiData: Residents can bring a limit of three boxes per vehicle of confidential documents for shredding. Documents will be shredded on-site and will be placed in a collection vehicle for recycling. Residents do not need to remove their name or personal information from the documents. No commercial shredding will be accepted.
  • Unused Medication and Pharmaceutical Collection by DEC: The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation will be accepting unused and unwanted prescription or nonprescription medications for proper disposal. This includes prescription liquids, pills or powders, over the counter medications, vitamins and supplements and pet medications. Sharps are accepted at the Authority's Utica EcoDrop facility and will not be accepted through the pharmaceutical collection.
