Waste Exchange Program
The Waste Exchange Program establishes an exchange of valuable information between generators and potential users of industrial and commercial wastes, whereby a beneficial use rather than disposal is the end result. This service identifies both the producers and potential markets for by-products, surpluses, unspent materials and other forms of solid waste that is no longer needed. If onsite recycling is not an option, the next best alternative may be to offer the waste to another company by the Waste Exchange Program. For example: clean five-gallon plastic pails that are a waste for one company may be used as recycling containers for an office complex.
The Authority has partnered with MAT-EX Materials Exchange Program to create the MAT-EX Materials Exchange and Reuse Program involving more than 20,000 businesses in Central and Western New York. This online listing service of wanted or available materials can be reached by filling out the form below or can be reached at www.MAT-EX.org.
