Due to an overwhelming participation and volume of Styrofoam packing material delivered by the residents and businesses of Oneida and Herkimer Counties, the Meyda Tiffany Company in Yorkville must suspend their Styrofoam Recycling Collection Program until further notice. During this time residents and businesses that generate large volumes of Styrofoam may store the material until a later date or dispose of the Styrofoam as solid waste. Meyda Tiffany and the Oneida-Herkimer Solid Waste Authority will continue to investigate alternative uses for the Styrofoam and polystyrene as part of their environmental conscience service efforts.
