CLINTON ELEMENTARY SCHOOL NAMED RECYCLING CHAMPION
11/29/06

Clinton Elementary School is a RECYCLING CHAMPION.

The Clinton Elementary School has developed a comprehensive recycling program for the students and faculty.   School principal Steven Marcus has fostered a commitment to recycling and has been instrumental in seeking changes to improve and promote the recycling program.   Mr. Marcus and the teaching staff have engaged elementary school students in the process by having them create and decorate their own recycling receptacles for class rooms and hallways.

Principal Marcus has also prompted several meetings to keep faculty updated and focused on recycling throughout the school building and has been instrumental in reducing the buildings waste stream.

The Oneida-Herkimer Solid Waste Management Authority recognizes the outstanding work done by Clinton Elementary School and Principal Marcus and presented them with the Authoritys Recycling Champions Award and a Certificate of Achievement to commend their example at the Authoritys Board Meeting, on Monday, November 20, 2006.
