On Saturday, April 21st, the Authority will be hosting a variety of events and activities to celebrate Earth Day, officially observed on April 22nd.
We have a lot to celebrate this Earth Day!
- A nationally recognized model for solid waste management systems
- New Single Stream Recycling Center which makes recycling easier than ever for residents, businesses, institutions and industries in our region
- Successful recycling initiative with over 700,000 tons of material recycled since 1991!
- “Go Green” School Recycling Program with involvement from more than 60 area school buildings
It is never too early to begin planning for Earth Day!
Keep in mind the events the Authority will host on April 21st to CELEBRATE Earth Day and continue preserving the environment.
- Rededication ceremony for Single Stream Recycling Center!
- Tours of the new Single Stream Recycling System!
- Confidential Paper Shredding in cooperation with CONFIDATA!
- Collection and proper disposal of unused, expired or unwanted medications and pharmaceuticals in cooperation with the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation!
- Representatives from other local organizations with “Green” Informational Booths for residents to gain green tips and information, view demonstrations, and ask questions!
- Don’t forget to bring your Household Hazardous Waste and Electronics for proper recycling or disposal!
